I have made a few blogging buddies lately, plus some fellow Sonlighters stopping by so I thought I would do a little post telling five things about me. Here are 5 things about me that you may (not) want to know.
- I am a Peppermint Pattie addict! I have probably eaten over 1000 in the ten years. I am particular about them; they have to be really fresh, not old and waxy looking. There are places that I have declared "authorized dealers."
- I live in a massively renovated farmhouse out in the country, surrounded by cows. I have seen more calves born (live and dead) than I ever imagined I would. My children are 5th generation to live in this house.
- I was an Army brat and moved every three years. Growing up, I thought I would marry military and spend my life moving around. Nope, married an educated farm boy and he put me in one spot and here I will stay till I die.
- I have a BS degree in Accounting but I never balance my checkbook! And, I was so bad at our family finances that my husband took that over (sad, isn't it?).
- I don't watch any TV. None. But, not that I wouldn't like to. We just don't have reception and choose not to get Satellite. However, when I am at someone's house I am glued to it.
p.s. One more little thing - my new signature says "Manda" because that is what my family (not my husband and his family though) calls me and what I call myself (especially when talking to myself).

It's nice to *meet* you! You have such a lovely blog!!!
That is so neat that your kids are 5th generation in your farm house! That is really awesome!
I can relate to #1-but mine is mms.
I can relate to #5! We get reception here, but choose not to pay for cable or anything like that. We chose 1 show a year to watch and that is all we watch!
My son, Jamie, loves York Peppermint Patties. My favorite candy is snicker's or reeses. I don't balance my check book either. I just know what I have out and check my bank account online. :) Have a super day!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! That is so neat that your children are the 5th generation to live in the farmhouse I would love that I love farmhouses. I do not like peppermint patties but I do love chocolate. Love your blog and it's nice to "meet" you :)
((Hugs)) to all who have commented! Some I know and some I don't. I will be heading to your blogs to get to know you, too!
I was so excited to learn more about you! None of those things relate to me but I think that's why I am so fascinated with you! :) I'm pretty sure we have some other things in common, tho. I would love to know where you live....
My Adorable Hubby is a Peppermint Pattie addict. You and I share the check book balancing budgeting thing, only I'm not a certified anything.
Fun blog, love Usborne books.
How neat to have the 5th generation living in the farm house. That sounds wonderful - although I would not like to have no television. Every once in a while I have to watch something totally worthless!;-)
I majored in accounting as well. I have no idea why. I hate numbers!
Hi Amanda - thanks for visiting my blog :) I can relate to enjoying peppermint patties - so, do you like thin mints? I love those!
I'm also a new military wife, so will soon know a lot about moving frequently!
I love peppermint patties and I usually make them homemade at Christmas time. I didnt' do it this year though. I like your signature (and also your confession to talking to yourself!) I need to make a signature for my blogs.
Thanks for visiting my blog! I love that you have a BS in accounting and yet fail miserably at you home finances! I reassures me that it's ok that I am a nurse and have a hard time "taking care of " my hubby when he is sick! I will check you blog often! Thanks for the bright start to my day!
I really enjoyed that Amanda and may have to 'steal' the idea from you when I'm short on blog material and get my scanner to scan! :-) While I think I knew most of that about you, it was still fun to read!
Jill, ((hugs)) I am so going to miss going to Rome with you! (heavy sigh...)
#5. Exactly. We choose not to spend the money, too.
