I made it to 100!!!
Can you believe it? I started this blog in August, 2008 and honestly I thought I was going to drop it by October. And, really I just about did. If you look back, there is very little posting going on. But, I kept moving forward (I love it when I can do that).
After Christmas I got more involved, decided to update the look of it and start
So, what am I going to do to celebrate? Well, I thought I would share a few more things about me you didn't
Okay, first a few things about me:
- I am terrible at backing up. If my van is in reverse, there is a good likelihood I am going to hit something. In just the past five years I have hit two cars, a truck, a bicycle, a brick pillar, a cement column and a dog. My younger sister started backing into a parking place and I told her if I tried to do that I might as well get out my insurance card! Why am I so bad? I do not look as what I am doing well enough, I kind of zone out, I guess half expecting to have eyes in the back of my head. I don't know.
- I live in a really windy spot. We have had so many things blow away or over it isn't even funny. Let's see, two trampolines, a WOOD swingset/fort that was staked down, about five trees, the Cozy Coupe car (you know, the plastic kid one), a basketball goal, a wagon, and about a zillion balls. Luckily we have a stand-and-seam metal roof, so that isn't going anywhere (although it sounds like it sometimes).
- I wear a toe ring. Have I mentioned that before? I don't think so. Surprised? I bet I seem really conservative and frumpy (well, I kind of am) but that is one hip thing I can claim. I love it and actually want to get change it out for a new one. It is one that goes on and doesn't come off unless you cut it off.
- I have my iron in too many pots. I bet some of you already figured that one out. Let's see, I homeschool, sell children's books, recently picked up photography and photo editing, blogging on TWO blogs, nursery coordinator at my church and oh, yeah, and I have four kids I am
supposed to beraising. - My best friend is my older sister, Kirstie. She moved to a neighboring state several years ago, but we are still very close. What a blessing to be best friends with a sister, a double blessing! (My husband and I are a different kind of best friends)
Okay, on to the giveaways. Now, I am not advertising these anywhere else. I want these giveaways to go to people who already read my mindless ramblings. Three things will be given away. The first number chosen (via Random.org) will get first pick, then the second winner will get to pick and then the third. Make sense? If I get only three responses (which is highly likely), then you are all winners!
My (cost efficient) Prizes:
- A premade iSmitten template by Smitten Blog Designs, because I just love helping others beautify their blogs. They are beautiful and amazingly affordable at just $5!
- A $5 Walmart gift card to buy the candy of their choice. I was going to give away a bag of Peppermint Patties, since that is my favorite, but with the heat down here, they would arrive as a bag of melted candy.
- A Twitter background of their choice from Sara's Pixel Studio because they are so cute and a great price!
Giveaway ends Monday, June 15th at 9:00 EST. Hopefully that will give my readers time to see this post and enter. If you win and don't want your prize, feel free to give it away on your blog.
So, what did you think of my 100th post celebration? I am already thinking about what I want to do for my one year blogoversary and it will be
p.s. Were there any more words I could strike out? LOL I tend to get a little crazy with that tool. Oh, and my kids had WWIII while I was writing this post. Can you relate with me? Please say yes!

Manda, you are such a fun blogger! Great prizes you're giving away and you chose such fun things to share about yourself. Congratulations on making it to 100 posts. Your blog anniversary will be here soon too. That is cool.
I can definitely relate to the kids having WWII, usually while I'm trying to concentrate on something.
Happy '100'th post friend!
I almost bought a toe ring today.. my dh would love it! Congrats on 100 posts... glad you stuck with it!
Why do you think I get so far behind on my blogs... WWIII regularly breaks out when I get on the computer. And after they go to bed I have to do my Usborne.
When do you find the time to read blogs?
Just dropping by as usual, dearie...not entering your fine contest, although it is very nice...just reading yer post...I have to ask, if you got that toe ring ON, why can't it come OFF, without being cut??? LOL...
That was a cute blog post! Happy 100th! (And yes, I love your other one too. Why in the world did I never see it before?)
Congrats on making it to 100!!!
Amanda! You crack me up! Hey, I once backed out of my garage without opening the door. Oops! (Now this was back in 1995...) You are SO lucky to have a sister and have her be your bestest friend. I have 2 brothers. I always wanted a sister, though. My 2 girls are 15 years apart at ages 17 and 2!
Amanda,
Thank you for sending me over here. I enjoyed reading your post and getting to know you. I love it when bloggers do more personal posts every now and then. It helps me feel like they are a real person and not just a blog.
Congrats on the 100th post!
I never thought I would make it that far myself.
Oh, and I suck at backing up. My husband makes fun of me because when he parks the truck, I make him park it backwards so I can just pull out onto the road LoL.
Congratulations on 100 posts!
~Luke
ps. Please don't include me in the drawing. I'd rather the prize goes to bless someone else [smile].
Aunt Manda you are not conservative and frumpy. I love reading your blog.
Congratulations on 100 posts!
I liked learning more about you and I am also a terrible "backer-upper." Really bad.
HAPPY 100th POST!!!! Congrats!
You wear a toe ring!? No way...LOL!
My favorite post of yours right now is the one about the Chick-Fil-A cows. Anyone who expends energy to debunk silly urban ideas about farming or cows or chickens is my BFF.
I know I'm too late for the great giveaway. I worked, then sat at a used book sale (homeschool) while my family hayed. Such is the life.
Just wanted to say Happy 100th!
