My husband and I took our kids to see Transformers Revenge of the Fallen yesterday, despite hearing pretty bad reviews of it. Many times we still enjoy a movie even though it received less than stellar reviews. Well, in this case the reviews were dead on.Here is my take on the movie:
- A lot of language! Not the "F" word, but pretty much everything else.
- A lot of "skin!" Girls scantily clad abound in this movie. I was not happy to have my 11 and almost 9 year old sons watching that, nor my daughter.
- A lot of destruction! Now, the kids loved that part, but honestly I kind of got battle fatigue.
- Not enough plot or dialogue. They had a decent story line, they just didn't expound on it enough. There is very little dialogue, mostly violence and destruction.

We still haven't seen the first one. I've heard that this second one wasn't really for kids. Which is a bummer.
I personally thought there was too much skin (especially from the rather trashy little girlfriend) and violence in the first one. However, I was still going to go see the second one with my husband this weekend before my daughter got sick. Maybe now I'm even less disappointed than I was. ;-) Maybe he can do see it with his buddies.

My 17 year old was insulted that they think this is what kids want. He has also proclaimed the first one to be 10 times better than the second.
ugh.
Hmm too bad the movie dint stand up to the standards....even then i will not miss the coming one
